CANVAS FAQ

Q. When do new exploit modules come out?

A. When they are done. Typically an exploit module will itself come out several times as it gets polished or ported to additional targets.

Q. What platforms are supported?

A. RedHat 8.0 and Windows 2000 are the ones Immunity uses to deploy on internally. CANVAS requires GTK 2.0 for the GUI.

Q. Is there some sort of downloadable demo?

A. Not at this time - CANVAS is distributed as Python source and it is prohibitively difficult for Immunity to protect it for a short term license.

Q. Is there a reduced price option for ?

A. There are no special pricings available at this time.

Q. What is the GUI written in?

A. pyGTK with Glade-2.

Q. How does CANVAS compare to Nessus or Cybercop or ISS Scanner?

A. It does not - CANVAS is not a scanner. CANVAS will exploit vulnerabilities and provide you with a remote shell, if possible. This gives CANVAS some unique capabilities, and due to its open platform, it can offer solutions no other product can. Want to remotely patch every vulnerable RPC Locator service in your enterprise? CANVAS provides you the infrastructure to build a script that does just that.
